Open a project you saved

From your gallery

Projects you have made on this device are already there — click one and it opens. That is the normal way back into your work and it needs no file at all.

From a file

  1. In your gallery, click Open project… in the header. Or, inside the editor, open the File menu and choose Open a file….
  2. Pick the file.
  3. It opens, and it is added to your gallery so it is one click away next time.

What it will open

| Extension | What it is | |---|---| | .crev | The current Crevano project format | | .crevano | The same format under its earlier name. Still opens | | .vform | Visionform projects. Still opens | | .json | A Crevano project that has been renamed. Still opens if the contents are right |

Crevano only ever writes .crev. Older files keep opening because files already sitting on disks do not expire.

If a file is not a Crevano project, you get "That file is not a Crevano project" and nothing changes.

Moving a project to another computer

There is no account and nothing syncs, so you move the file.

  1. On the first machine, File → Save as…, format Crevano project (.crev).
  2. Put that file wherever you like — email, cloud drive, memory stick.
  3. On the second machine, open the studio and use Open project….

Everything comes across, including your uploaded photographs, because they travel inside the project file.

> Note > One thing does not travel: a font you added yourself. Fonts stay on the device they were > added to. If a project uses one, either add the font on the second machine too, or export a > PDF, where the letters are already outlines. See > Add your own font.

If you installed Crevano

With Crevano installed on a Chromium desktop browser, double-clicking a .crev file in your file manager opens it in the app — and ⌘S afterwards writes straight back to that file, the way a normal document behaves. See Install Crevano.

[VERIFY] The site also suggests you can drop a project file onto the page to open it. I could not confirm that this works. Use Open project… until it is settled.
