Change the background

The background sits behind everything on the page. It is a property of the page, not an element, so you cannot select it, move it or accidentally drag it out of place.

Steps

  1. Click Elements in the left rail.
  2. Click the Backgrounds tile.
  1. Pick a TextureCork, Linen, White, Ink, Sage or Blush.
  2. Or pick a Colour from the swatch row.

It applies immediately to the page you are on. There is no Apply button.

Your own colour

  1. Click + Add colour beside Colours.
  2. Use the Picker, or type a value into Hex — with or without the #.
  3. Click Add to colours. It is applied straight away and stays in the swatch row for next time.
  4. To remove one of your own colours later, click the small on its swatch. The built-in swatches cannot be removed.

> Note > If you have set up Brand colours in the Brand panel, they are listed first in the swatch > row, ahead of everything else. That is deliberate — they are the ones you will reach for.

About Pantone

Most Pantone books print the nearest hex value beside each swatch. Enter that. A true spot colour is a setting on a press, not something a screen or an RGB file can hold, so no design app can promise it.

New pages

A page added with + Add page inherits the current background. Change it on any page individually — pages do not have to match.
